UAC confirms PAK-FA runway trials, but no hard date set for first flight

DATELINE: MOSCOW Dec 28

The Russian fifth-generation fighter jet will make its maiden flight very soon, United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) President and CEO Alexei Fyodorov told a Monday press conference in Moscow.

“Preparations for the first flight are very intensive. I confirm the recent runway trials of the jet,” he said.

The jet and its innards are brand new, so it is hard to say exactly when the first flight may take place, Fyodorov said.
